Choosing the words carefully PDF Print E-mail
Written by Laura Miller
Hmmmm…most interesting. A marketer is looking for a *copywriter* for a high level assignment that may become a monthly job. He didn’t disclose many details and had few replies.

Some didn’t reply because of the lack of details…others didn’t reply because he hit one of the IM blind spots.

Is it possible that you need a writer and not a copywriter?

The word copywriter is used specifically for someone writing sales letters, when you mention article directories, well, it looks like you are looking for a writer...

For a well written sales letter, $3K (or more) is standard... I like the style of Eric Louviere, now he is beyond copywriting for what I heard... but maybe he has someone.

We think of copywriters as sales page writers. He was looking for an accomplished article writer. OOPS…

One day I was in Spain, and they told me a very interesting tale about how people from Spain and Chile used the same words for very different purposes... It was a joke about the word "pico", what the dictionary translates as "beak", and a Chilean lady getting very offended.

Bottom line... be careful about the way you use that word in Chile, and use the words to help real communication when you are in a specific community.
